THE FORMULA EDIT
Exfoliation + Texture
Explore Bubble Clinic formulas designed to refine the look of rough, dull or congested skin and support a smoother, more even-looking surface. Exfoliation can be useful when texture, clogged pores or visible dullness are part of your skin concerns, but more is not always better.
Choose exfoliation by what your skin needs
Different exfoliating ingredients work in different ways. Leave-on acids can target uneven-looking texture and congestion, while rinse-off exfoliating cleansers can provide a gentler entry point for some routines. Start gradually, avoid stacking several strong exfoliants at once, and adjust frequency according to your skin’s tolerance.
The texture-refining actives
Salicylic Acid (BHA)
An oil-soluble exfoliating acid commonly used in skincare for clogged pores, blackheads, excess oil and uneven-looking texture.
Lactic Acid + Mandelic Acid (AHA)
Alpha hydroxy acids help loosen dull surface build-up and are frequently used in formulas designed to improve visible smoothness and radiance.
Gluconolactone (PHA)
A polyhydroxy acid used for gentle surface exfoliation while also contributing humectant properties to a formula.
Azelaic Acid
A multi-purpose active that can complement routines focused on uneven-looking tone, blemishes and texture. Explore the Azelaic Acid guide.

How to build an exfoliating routine
Begin with one main exfoliating step rather than combining an exfoliating cleanser, strong toner and resurfacing treatment in the same routine from day one. Moisturise after exfoliation and use broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day, particularly when using alpha hydroxy acids.
For visible congestion, you can also explore Pores + Congestion and Blemish Control.
